Job description
For a well-known pharmaceutical company, we’re searching for an IP Manager. The company is focused on innovating, reinventing, and optimising existing medications to address important healthcare needs and deliver relevant improvements for patients, healthcare professionals and payors. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of intellectual property rights from disclosure to protection which requires constant follow-up.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities include:
- Review new invention disclosures and provide assessment regarding patentability
- Manage an IP portfolio for a wide range of products
- liaise with patent attorneys and service providers
- Be in charge of carrying out or organizing patent searches
- Initiate and monitor the patent protection process
- Follow-up the patent prosecution
- Follow-up the administrative part for obtaining and maintaining a patent
- Instruct external agencies timely on procedural actions
- Closely monitor costs
YOUR PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
- Keen interest in intellectual property, especially patent protection.
- Experience in intellectual property and/or training in patent law
- Research Experience (e.g. during a PhD) is a plus
- Effective verbal and written communication skills (very good English – written and spoken, French and/or other languages are an asset)
- Computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and experience with an IP document management system
