Communications Manager

Job description


Responsible for internal & external communications and supports the Country President Belgium & Luxembourg on any communications related initiatives. Works with the Senior Management Team to contribute to communication strategies for specific departments. Prepares documents and supports the development of campaigns used in internal communications and for external communications as needed. Employs expertise of communication to effectively disseminate the company’s strategies, policies and other key information to a geographical or functional area.



  • Manages multiple internal & external communications initiatives, to deliver unified corporate messages through multiple media
  • In collaboration with the Country President Belux and other functions, drafts, writes, and edits communications intended for external audiences
  • Ensures communications are on-message, are compliant and are pushed through the appropriate channels
  • Responsible forSenior Management Team communications and helps raise awareness of company events via internal communication channels
  • Develops creative and engaging communications in keeping with the programs and strategies developed by more senior internal management and/or communication professionals
  • Collaborates with colleagues in other Corporate & Government Affairs functions to ensure consistency and effectiveness of messages
  • Supports development and consistent use of communication materials, and employs these to ensure teams deliver a consistent and effective message to internal and external stakeholders
  • Collects employee feedback through formal and informal channels and feeds this upward to help monitor the effectiveness of existing communications programs
  • Identifies opportunities internally and externally maximizing the company’s Brand Image


  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication, marketing or related field
  • Communications experience in a corporate environment
  • Able to convey crisp messages tailored to specified target groups
  • First-rate coordination, collaboration, organization and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to deal with multiple stakeholders, and adapt communication style accordingly
  • Creative and innovative
  • Excellent written & spoken English, Dutch & French
  • Can-do attitude
  • Experience in working with external communications professionals is desirable
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus
